How Much Does Fashion PLM Cost? A 2026 Pricing Guide
Fashion PLM can cost nothing, or it can cost six figures a year. Here's what brands actually pay in 2026, how vendors price it, and the costs that never make it onto a pricing page.
"How much does it cost?" is the first question most brands ask about PLM, and the hardest one to answer from vendor websites. Some publish clear per-user prices. Others hide everything behind a demo. A few publish a number that leaves out onboarding, add-on modules or minimum seat counts.
This guide puts the published numbers side by side, explains what changes the price, and shows what a small team would actually pay over a year. Full disclosure: we make Specter OS, which is one of the platforms listed. Every competitor price below comes from that vendor's own pricing page, and where a vendor doesn't publish pricing, we say so rather than guess.
If you're still deciding whether you need a PLM at all, start with what fashion PLM is and when a brand needs one.
The short answer: three price bands
Fashion PLM pricing falls into three broad bands:
- Free to about €50 per user, per month. Free tiers and tech pack builders for founders and small teams. Specter OS starts at €0, and Techpacker's entry tech pack builder is $35 per user, per month on annual billing.
- About €100 to €300 per user, per month. Modern cloud PLM for growing brands, such as Delogue (from €145) and Kōbō (from $140, with add-on modules on top).
- Quote only. Enterprise platforms such as Centric and WFX don't publish pricing. Expect an annual contract, a sales process and a separate implementation project, which puts the total well beyond the per-user tools.
Most brands with fewer than ten people working on product sit in the first two bands. The rest of this guide explains where in those bands you'll land, and why.
How fashion PLM is priced
Almost every fashion PLM uses one of four pricing models, and many combine them:
- Per user, per month. The most common model. You pay for each person on your team who logs in. Check whether that includes your factories and suppliers, because it makes a large difference to the total (more on this below).
- Annual vs monthly billing. Many vendors quote their lowest price on annual billing. Kōbō takes 15% off for yearly billing. Delogue charges €145 per user on annual billing and €169 on quarterly. Techpacker's headline prices assume annual billing.
- Modules and add-ons. The base plan covers development, and extra functions cost more. Kōbō, for example, charges an extra $90 per user, per month for its Ops & Supply module.
- Flat or quote-based contracts. Some vendors offer a flat team price (Delogue lists a €6,000 per year team plan), and enterprise vendors quote each customer individually.

What a three-person team pays in a year
Per-user prices are hard to compare in your head, so here is the same team on each platform: three people working on product (say a founder, a designer and a product developer), billed for twelve months, with factories invited at no cost wherever the plan allows it.
| Platform and plan | Calculation | First-year cost |
|---|---|---|
| Specter OS Signature | €40 × 3 users × 12 months | €1,440 |
| Specter OS Bespoke | €100 × 3 users × 12 months | €3,600 |
| Techpacker PLM Professional | $95 × 3 users × 12 months, plus $500 onboarding | $3,920 |
| Kōbō Studio Lite | $140 × 3 users × 12 months, billed monthly | $5,040 |
| Delogue Essential | €145 × 3 users × 12 months, annual billing | €5,220 |
Two things stand out. First, the spread is wide: the same team can pay anywhere from about €1,400 to over €5,000 a year before adding any modules. Second, the cheapest headline price isn't always the cheapest year. One-time onboarding fees, add-on modules and annual commitments all move the real number, so always work out a full first year before you compare.
What drives the price up
- The number of paid users. Count everyone who will actively work in the platform: design, product development, sourcing and production. Most small brands need fewer seats than they expect, because not everyone needs to edit.
- Whether factories need paid seats. A brand working with five factories and two trim suppliers can double its seat count if suppliers aren't free. Every platform in the table that publishes this detail lets suppliers in at no cost, but check before you sign.
- Plan limits on styles and collections. Some plans cap how much you can work on at once. On Specter OS, for example, Signature covers up to 25 styles across 3 active collections, and Bespoke removes those limits. Check what happens when you outgrow a cap.
- Modules beyond development. Inventory, wholesale, order management and sales tools are often priced separately. Only pay for them if you'll run that part of the business in the same platform.
- Integrations. Connections to Adobe Illustrator, 3D tools, colour libraries or your ERP can be included, sold as add-ons, or not offered at all.
- Support level. Priority support, a dedicated account manager or hands-on setup usually sit on the higher tiers.
Costs that are not on the pricing page
The subscription is only part of what PLM costs you. Budget for these as well:
- Onboarding and implementation. Some vendors charge a one-time setup fee, and enterprise platforms run implementation as a separate paid project that can take months.
- Moving your existing data. Tech packs in Excel, PDFs and Illustrator files have to be rebuilt or imported. That's either your team's time or a paid service.
- Your team's time. Learning a new tool and changing how you work with factories takes weeks, not hours. A platform that ships with ready-made content, such as material and CAD libraries, shortens this.
- Minimum seats and contract length. A plan that requires a minimum number of users, or a twelve-month commitment, can cost more than its per-user price suggests.
- Getting your tech packs made. If nobody on your team writes tech packs, you'll pay for that separately. See what a professional tech pack service costs.
Then there's the cost of not having a system at all. A missed measurement change, a wrong trim on one colourway or a lost round of sample comments can cost more than a year of software, which is why the most expensive tech pack mistakes are usually communication failures, not design ones. For more on that, see why spreadsheets stop working as a brand grows.
How much should you spend?
A practical way to set a budget is to match it to how much production you actually run:
- Before your first production run: start free or close to it. You need clean tech packs and one place to keep them, not a full PLM. A free tier or a tech pack builder is enough.
- One to five people, a few factories: roughly €40 to €150 per user, per month. At this stage the value is in sharing tech packs with factories, tracking samples and keeping every comment on the style, so make sure supplier access is free.
- Ten or more people, several categories: €150 to €300 per user, per month, with modules for costing, planning or wholesale if you'll actually use them.
- Large teams with complex approvals and compliance needs: an enterprise platform, with a budget for implementation as well as licences.
Whatever you choose, pick a platform you can start using this month. The most expensive PLM is the one that takes six months to set up while your team keeps working in spreadsheets.
Frequently asked questions about PLM pricing
How much does fashion PLM software cost?
From nothing to six figures a year. Free tiers and tech pack builders cost €0 to about €50 per user, per month. Modern cloud PLM for growing brands costs about €100 to €300 per user, per month. Enterprise platforms quote each customer individually and add implementation costs on top.
Is there free fashion PLM software?
Yes. Specter OS has a free Series plan for building your first tech packs, with paid plans once you start working with factories. Other vendors offer time-limited free trials, which is not the same as a free plan.
Do my factories need paid seats?
On most modern platforms, no. Specter OS (on Signature and Bespoke), Kōbō and Delogue all let suppliers in for free. Always confirm this before you sign, because paid supplier seats can double your cost.
Why don't enterprise PLM vendors publish their prices?
Enterprise contracts are priced around each customer's team size, modules, integrations and implementation scope, so there's no standard price to publish. If a vendor won't share a price before a demo, it's usually a sign the platform is built for larger organisations.
Is it cheaper to keep using spreadsheets?
The software is cheaper, but the mistakes aren't. Spreadsheets work for a handful of styles. Once you have several factories, colourways and sample rounds, the cost of one wrong spec usually outweighs a year of a small-team PLM.
